چکیده

Ameloblastoma is an epithelial odontogenic tumour of the jaw and exhibits diverse microscopic patterns which occurs either singly or in combination with other patterns. Granular cells can occur in various odontogenic and non-odontogenic tumours. Granular cell ameloblastoma is a rare variant of ameloblastoma as making up 1 to 5% of all ameloblastomas that histopathologically has numerous large granular cells. The “granular change” is thought to be due to a dysfunctional status of neoplastic cells, and the pathogenesis of this tumour seems to be age-related. This article describes a case of granular cell ameloblastoma affecting a 60 The tumour was excised and no recurrence has been observed after one year of surgery.

Granular cell ameloblastoma: case report of a particular ameloblastoma histologically resembling oncocytoma.

Granular cell ameloblastoma is classified as a histological subtype of solid/multicystic ameloblastoma. Usual granular cell ameloblastoma is histologically characterized by granular changes of stellate-like cells located in the inner portion of the epithelial follicles. Here we report a case of another type of granular cell ameloblastoma, showing predominant anastomosing double-stranded trabecu...

Granular Cell Ameloblastoma: A Case Report

Granular cell ameloblastoma is a rare condition, accounting for 3.5% of all ameloblastoma cases. The granular cell ameloblastoma, in most instances is found as an admixture with other histologic patterns, particularly the follicular subtype. A 58 year old male patient reported with a swelling in the lower left posterior region of the face since 2 years. Orthopantomograph showed radiolucency ext...

Granular Cell Ameloblastoma: an Unusual Histological Subtype Report and Review of Literature

BACKGROUND Granular cell ameloblastoma is a rare histological subtype of ameloblastoma accounting for less than 5% of the total. The characteristic microscopic features of granular cells are attributed to the increased presence of lysosomes in the cytoplasm of the tumour cells. METHODS A case of bone expansion in the mandible of 65 year old patient was examined on the basis of the clinical ex...
